Steven is 4 1/2 months old and he is now able to bring his (Right) hand to his mouth while sitting... AND... supination! He is turning the palm of his hand up in order to put his fingers in his mouth. YAY!! Lots of progress in such a short time!
Our amazing baby boy was born June 10, 2011. He suffered a Brachial Plexus Injury during his birth. Steven's injury is referred to as Erb's Palsy. The purpose of this blog is to make others aware of this injury, and the risk factors during their pregnancy and delivery, so they can reduce the risk of this injury happening to their baby. Brachial Plexus palsy occurs in 2-3 per 1,000 live births. If your child already has a BPI I encourage you to find a BPI Specialist!
