Our amazing baby boy was born June 10, 2011. He suffered a Brachial Plexus Injury during his birth. Steven's injury is referred to as Erb's Palsy. The purpose of this blog is to make others aware of this injury, and the risk factors during their pregnancy and delivery, so they can reduce the risk of this injury happening to their baby. Brachial Plexus palsy occurs in 2-3 per 1,000 live births. If your child already has a BPI I encourage you to find a BPI Specialist!

Steven and Lillian a week after he was born
Big sister Lillian wanted to share her blanket with her new baby brother. She loved him so much from the day he was born and still does! He slept a lot in the beginning and didn't seem to be in pain, until we started doing therapy. The doctors all agreed that we should keep his arm in a sling, or pinned to his shirt for 2 weeks and then start therapy. It was such a joy watching them together in the first few weeks.
